MSI Sold 11.5 Million of Graphics Cards in 2002.

Micro-Star International (MSI) last week announced that they had manufactured approximately 11.5 million of graphics cards in 2002, outperforming the main rival ASUSTeK Computer by more than six million units. Although MSI is probably not the world?s number one graphics card maker (for instance, PC Partner, who produces graphics cards for ATI Technologies and other vendors, makes up to 1.8 million of graphics solutions monthly, while MSI makes less than 1 million), MSI is definitely the biggest manufacturer of graphics cards based on the GPUs developed by NVIDIA.

If its sold I really wish I had some MSI stock to offset the huge losses that I'm getting through AMD and Intel (I'm holding onto AMD b/c of the athlon64...and intel b/c I've lost way too much money on it and I really don't care if I get it back anymore)

Cant speak for the US but here in the UK MSI are very big. In fact I have one of their KT3 mobos and GeForce4 4600s.

Interesting. I thought they have a large market in Asia only. MSI is about the biggest brand here besides ABIT and ASUS. Apart from mobos, most of the time you can find their gfx cards as well which is really common. Too bad we don't get the other brands you guys have in US/UK.

Count me in as 1 of those buyers. I was so happy with my MSI GeForce4-Ti4400 that I also bought a 16x MSI DVD-ROM that is also most excellent IMHO.

I've done my share w. MSI K7D-Master L dual board and MSI TI-4200 VTP/128 VIVO Graphic card...

I think most of those cards are ones they make for OEM business, they make cards for Dell, HP/Compaq etc...

You can get a whole variety of MSI products(mobos, vidcards, cdrw drives, etc) here in Canada, I'm sure they must be widespread in the US as well.

Dont forget the OEM sector which is more important saleswise than retail. You can find MSI video cards for example in Dells.

MSI just signed a deal to do dell MB and graphics cards, also HP MB has well.

Not surprised. They're a 3rd party manufacterer to a lot name brand distributers. I know they make video cards for Creative these days.

Good for MSI! They are a great company and they make excellent parts. Nothing beats the packaging and performance of my MSI Ti4200 128mb

Doesnt Sapphire make ATI's video cards? PC Partner is only responsible for the A3 and A4 ATI chipsets.

out of all the video cards I've owned.. half of them have been MSI and they work sweet.
