MSI SLI Platinum - Won't load OS

Build ing a new PC using the MSI SLI Platinum, AMD64 3000+, Crucial 512M DDR400 and Gigbyte PCIe 6600 card. Pioneer DVD-ROM used as CD/DVD Drive (IDE master)
- Have disconnected HDD to remove from equation.

I am trying to install OS from CD and can't get beyond loading drivers to get CD to work.
System freezes before reaching getting to windows installation option.

MSI debug bracket shows all 4 LEDs as Green.
Which according to the handbook means OS loading.

Running Memtest to test memory at the moment.

Any suggestions as to what may be going wrong ?

Memory OK.

Started again this time setting the bios to defaults and reconfiguring.

Installed and everything works OK.
