MSI RX 6600 - No Bundle Needed - $460

is there any marked difference between all of the different 6600s? my rx480 is getting more and more angry at me and I'm not sure how much longer I can wait out the current pricing nonsense.

I don't think so.

I like the MSI models because they have a 3 year warranty that is transferrable, and you don't even need a receipt but in that case they use the built on date associated with the serial number vs the sold on date. I've have good luck with MSI cards in the past... that's about it. When I posted originally it was just the only one available.

I'd say the actual performance is the same, so go for the warranty, aesthetics or price to guide you 🙂

Good news is that this is a real step up from your RX480 and is likely more efficient too.

The big splurge, imo, would be to get the XT model for $70-$120 more. It is measurably faster but is in the same class of card. As you appear to be someone who spent more on a 480 when the 470 existed, I merely mention it. It's pretty much the same dynamic.

That's some great advice and upgrade option, a good point on that, thanks. I had always planned to look into nvidia more whenever the time to get a card rolled around this time, but on matter of principle I won't pay more than a video card than I would for a cell phone. 😀 Right now this range like a kind of sweet spot, if there even is such a thing.

It’s even got some pretty lights on it!!!

The XT is solidly faster. I was seeing that on the new 3050 reviews, like at Toms Hardware, and I don’t think you’ll be sad. The 6700xt is such a huge jump in cost, it’s sorta nuts.

Is it just me, or have video card prices spiked up on Neweg again starting today, after it was revealed that the invasion of Ukraine may cause a chip industry neon shortage? RX 6600 XT cards are $799.

Waiting for the flood of under $200 RX 6500XT cards. MindFactory in Germany, is selling them for the equivalent of (I think) $139 USD, when you take off VAT.

Considering that the GTX 1650 was originally that price a few years ago, and the RX 6500 XT is an entry-level 4GB 1080P Medium-level card (like the GTX 1650), although faster than the GTX 1650, because it's a few generations newer, well, $139 would make a LOT of sense, especially if they've mfg'ed enough of the to "flood the market", and we can finally build enntry-level $500-600 gaming PCs again, and thus wouldn't have to deal with GT 730, GT 1030, GTX 1050 ti 4GB, and possibly not even the GTX 1650 (although the Super could remain on the market).

GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6600 EAGLE 8G Graphics Card, WINDFORCE 3X Cooling System, 8GB 128-bit GDDR6, GV-R66EAGLE-8GD Video Card $369.99

ASRock Radeon RX 6600 8GB PCI Express 4.0 Video Card RX6600 CLD 8G $367.99

SAPPHIRE Nitro+ Radeon RX 6600 XT 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ATX Video Card 11309-01-20G $469.99

ASRock Challenger D Radeon RX 6600 XT 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Video Card RX6600XT CLD 8GO $469.99

Prices, they are starting to get good. Now I'm waiting for $329 RX 6600 and $399 RX 6600 XT. Which we might get soon, as during the RX 470/480 to RX 570/580 firesale transition period, because it is rumored that there are going to be 6000-series x50 cards coming out with faster VRAM on them.

Tiny, zero db fan, and six pin power. If it’s gonna pack a smaller punch it sure as heck doesn’t need a huge footprint.
