MSI RS480M2-IL Issues

I'd like to know if anyone else has these problems with this motherboard:

I never get a post beep, good or bad.

I set the video clock from sync to async. Rebooting scrambled the screen so I went to reset the bios. Which is where I did have a problem. The jumper resetting didn't work. Infact it made everything go black on next restart. Without any post beeps I had no idea what was wrong. Removing the battery for 20 minutes changed nothing. But remmoving it for an hour reset the bios and everything seemed fine, until I noticed my memory was bad at a few bytes but pass the extended POST test.

Taking the memory totally out also didn't make any post beeps happen.
I replaced the memory with 1Gb in 2 Dimms of Corsair brand sticks.

Things work fine under win xp x64.
There is the issue of not having drivers for Alcohol 120%

Also the beta Catalyst drivers, and the new 04/07/2005 ones don't run half-life 2 correctly. There are random black XORed triangle every 3-5 frames.

Second Life runs at about 1fps. I am afraid that only DX8 styled games run well (such as HL1 with Natural Selection 3).

Has anyone tried running these under win XP 32bit and found it to be error free?
Does anyone's board actually beep POST beeps? The MSI service guy told me that his test board didn't but that he didn't think that was normal.

Hmm, don't know what to say. No problems with my board, but I will vouch that the MSI RS480M2-IL will run HL2 just dandy under XP Home.

I seem to remember there not being a PC speaker connector on my board when I installed it. It's tough to beep with no speaker, but I may not be remembering correctly.

May I ask something about MSI RS480?

1) Is it mobo OK with S3 (suspend on RAM mode)? Or it seems to have different that usual voltage and cpu temp after restore from s3?

2) Is there a problem with msi rs480 and aria case? I think I have seen somewhere that aria case supports specific matx mobos (the problem has to do with the PCI-EXPRESS card position on motherboard).

I just had the same problem, made some changes to the bios, now my RS480 will NOT show any video upon turning it on. I removed the video card, tried hooking it up to onboard video, nothing. Clear CMOS? Nothing. I'm gonna try this battery trick. If this doesn't work I'm gonna start breaking sh!t.

My board doesn't give POST beep codes. It DOES have a speaker on the board, though. Why it's there if there's no beep codes is beyond me.
