Hai guys this is my first post at anand tech thanks to guys for having a great forum....
Iam planning to buy a MSI-RS480M2-IL motherboard.
Queries
1. What chipset does it use ATI Radeon xpress 200 or ATI RS 480. Because in the MSI website it says ATI® Radeon XPRESS 200 Chipset, but in a review in DIGIT July 2005(indian pc mag) it says ATI RS 480.

2. I have great things about the ATI Readeon xpress 200 chipset is anybody using it how is the performance.

3. I want to go in for a Geforce nvidia 6600 GT XFX card but how is the compatability with this card and a RadeonXpress 200 chipset. Or should I go in for a ATI card if so which is a decent radeon card available now(on comparison with 6600).

4. Finally how is the motherboard performance.

Ash.

Hi,
I have ECS RS480-M (w/ tv-out and overclocking some features)

Radeon XPress 200 = ATI RS480 (maybe codename or something like that)
It do have a good performance, using it with 1GB Ram and a64 3000+ venice (e3)
Very stable - but remember to update your bios.

i think the compatibility with 6600gt will be as good as nforce4 compatibility.

finally - i recommend you ECS RS480-M

:)

If you are considering the board, I have used the MSI version you are talking about and it was a very good board, I decided I wanted something with a little more robust feature set, so I decided to go with NF4, but for the month I was using it, it worked like a champ, no problems with it WHAT so ever, and I used a 6600gt in it and had no issues either. Computer parts are made to be brand independent so you really shouldn't ever have to worry about that kind of thing.

If you are thinking about a 6600gt, I would consider the X800 128mb/12pipe card for about $150 @Newegg.

If you're gaming, try going for the X800XL. Might be out of your budget. 6600GT is alright, but 6600 is mediocre at best, unless you wish to overclock the thing.
