....of course also some OC friendly 7700 cards (Which should make budget buyers jump for joy?).

So, being that i'm wedging between a 7850/7950 - and have a few more days before May and my purchase.

Does anyone know if it has improved power phases / vrm stability?

Does VDCCIO overvolting actually help stability at High OC or is it a gimmick?

I can't find any reviews - but it seems like even the partners are realizing 7850 is immensely underclocked and has monster value for budget enthusiasts.

Any reviews contra Direct CU II and Twin Frozr 3?

7750 has a 6-pin power plug, that should make it a great budget model. Should OC very well and put it in the range of a 6850 for ~$100-110 if it's priced like other 7750s. Still, there's only so much you can do with 16 ROPs, 512 shaders, and 128 bit memory... even if it can manage to hit 1200+ MHz core.

On the 7850, you can see heatspreaders on the VRMs, I can't tell if there is a 2nd 6-pin plug on the 7850, but it'd be silly to release this card without the 2nd 6-pin connector. The PCB looks the same as the regular 7850, so I'm guessing VRM power phases are the same, but the VRM heatspreaders will help some with power delivery.

There is a typo in the link to the 7750 (URL lists 77750 instead of 7750)

In the disclosure they say their claimed "up to 45% OC" was on the 7850 at "maximum voltage" which means they got a cherry chip up to 1250. I don't think that's out of the ordinary for a solid 7850 chip, so don't know how much value the package offers, but if considering aftermarket cooling for quiet and VRMs or such, it might be worth the few bucks extra this will cost over a standard 7850, especially if it does have a second 6-pin since the XFX card seems to have a ridiculously bad cooler, as at least one review has it at worse than the reference cooler.

Concillan:

Wauw what alot of text saying absolutely nothing in regards to my original prepositions.
Try again ;).

Don:
I've been monitoring your threads like a hawk.
Thanks for having them.
Sorry for ya, if this is a greater phased VRM card with moe pushin' the cushion.

No one knows any sites that are reviewing these or got a sample or something?

Very interested, see claims of greater PVM/VRM's on some UK hardware sites with the promo material.

This sounds really good:

  • Power Edition
    - Triple Overvoltage: adjust the voltage of GPU, memory and VDDCI to unleash the potential of graphics card.
    - Enhanced PWM Design: provide higher overclocking capability and better stability in peak load.
  • Twin Frozr IV with Dust Removal technology
    TWIN-FROZR-IV-icon-design.jpg
    - Bring 22℃ cooler and 11dB quieter than reference product.
    - Keep out dust for optimal cooling performance by Dust Removal technology.

I hope it has a second power connector, that card might be a beast.

Hm, 6850 might do me if I can flog my 5770. Question really is how much will it settle at and how much noise would it make when running at a speed which matches the 6850?

Will look out for people overclocking it but as always not many people interested in pushing budget cards :-(

Seriously? A day after I buy one

I feel your pain bro :p ordered my new kit yesterday (2500k, GA-Z68AP3 and MSI 7850). Just cancelled the 7850; as far as I can tell they haven't shipped it yet due to the weekend, gonna wait it out for this updated version. I don't expect it to be significantly more expensive.

I swear some website stated the TDP was <127W for this new card, but I'll be damned if I can't find the website again.. In any case, if this is true, that would obviously mean there's still only one 6-pin PCIe connector. How this enhances OC potential is anyone's guess..

The new 7850 does not look much different than the current R7850. Minus the fans and shroud, the heatsink looks about the same.

Updated Twin Frozr Design, for whatever that's worth.

We're most interested in the beefier VRM's/Power Phases.
But we need to figure out if it's true.

That would allow for greater OC's for the 7850 - and make the msi power 7850 king.
Seriously, no one has seen this?

UK Msi Marketing:

Pre Order on Overclockers.co.uk

And they're still nowhere in site on US markets?
really?

its only 1x 6 pin connector for the 7850 (Asus version)

The discussion isn't on previously released 7850s. This is a new card from MSI that has just been announced, but details are scarce - hence the talk about a 2nd 6pin PCIe.

Just from the looks of the pictures, I am going out on a limb and say there is only 1 6pin connector.

No one! Bit fail MSI haven't released more info on them, especially in relation to the PCIe connectors. Some website reviewed the 7770.. as if anyone cares about that card :/

So basicly no difference from MSI 7850 Twin Frozr 3 to MSI 7850 Twin Frozr 4

which most likely only yields...5% more better stability if anything?
(Being conservative here)?
