Which is funny because the MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozer gets excellent reviews on Amazon and Newegg. This looked like a great deal as well until i also read the reviews......hmmm

Those exact opposite reviews on newegg and amazon are a real mind fuq. Getting rid of my 6870 build and really looking for hotdeal on 7850, 7870 or 7950. Goal is 1080p BF3 vsynced 60hz and holding 60fps in 64player maps. I'd really like the Never Settle Game Bundle. Twin Frozr 7850 is good price but the DOA reviews, Never Settle Game bundle?, concern me as well as if a even a 7850 oc'd will get me BF3 way i want. Thinking of building something along these lines:

I'm thinking this XFX for $20 more would be worth it with the much better reviews and you get a bundled game:

Did the 7850's ever come with the Never Settle game bundle? I don't think they did.

Where are people seeing all these bad reviews of the MSI?

And by the way, the 7850 originally came with Sleeping Dogs, and then it was switched to Far Cry 3. The promotion looks to have run out. For about a week, Newegg was throwing in the Far Cry 3/Hitman bundles intended only for crossfire sets - I assume they didn't sell to many of those. That's when I jumped on a 7870. :D

How can you have a 60%+ failure rate when 62% are 5 egg reviews?

I find it kind of amazing since the MSI 7850s were one of the better recommended one when I was first looking around for the 7850s. Asus/Sapphire/MSI were pretty much the top ones because of the superior history/cooling fans.

I really wonder how many of those failures were caused by reckless OC's.

I also wonder how many of those RMA's were by whiny kids who didn't get huge overclocks

I have the non oc msi 7850 in a HTPC. Its really small, the fans are kinda high pitched, but I have had absolutely 0 problems. After owning the GTX 660 by Galaxy I have a hard time recommending another card in that price range though.

that was just on the first page.

If 62% success rate works for you, hurry and place your order. Report back if it works or not.

Ima waitin for somethin else.

That doesn't mean that everybody who didn't assign a perfect 5 star review has a dead card...

True.

Also agree with some being killed by OC attempts. I'm sure the reviewer wouldn't fess up to that.

Concerning is the review (2nd or 3rd page in) where he couldn't get MSI to return calls for the second RMA.
"I have tried nearly everyday to contact the person mentioned in MSI's response to my review. And have had to leave a message every time, and have yet to have it returned.

I was pleasantly surprised to have the option to get a card prior to replacement and get a prepaid shipping for the one to be RMA'd, but it is becoming obvious that there is NO WAY TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN since they refuse to return my many phone calls."

If anyone wants this card........ BUY IT. I just pointed out the RMA history.
