MSI Pro2 & win2000 ?

I just upgraded my mom's computer from an Abit BH6/P2-350 to MSI Pro2/Duron 700.. The rest of the components are exactly the same.

It was running win2k.. When I try to boot w/ the new mobo combo, it gave me a blue screen - I figured this is as expected because I'm changing from Intel to AMD. Then I reformated the partition (tried both NTFS and FAT32) and tried to reinstal win2k and it does not work. After the first boot, it scans for the hardware and everytime I did it, it ended with a blue screen that says "hardware malfunction, please contact your hardware vendor" After several times doing this, I gave up and installed win98se.. It's working fine now. But is there a compatibility issue with MSI Pro2 & win2k? Anyone else experienced this?

You need to turn off onboard Legacy Support in Intergraded peripherals.

Just leave onboard sound to auto in Advanced chipset but leave Legacy Support in Intergraded peripherals off. after that Win2k will install fine.

Maaan, I wished I posted this message before I spent a day trying to install it..

I'll definitely try it.

thanks!
