I'm experiencing spurious lock ups with my PC. I'm running windows 2000 with the MSI K7T PRO2-A and a GeForce DDR video card. My PC runs fine when I'm using it but when I leave it for a while and come back to it, sometimes it's locked up completely and I have to restart. The video is just frozen. I'm using one of the standard screen savers that comes with windows 2000 (I've also tried others as well as turning it off but I still have the problem). I've also downloaded the latest drivers for my video card (Detonator 3.0) from the NVIDIA website. Does anyone know if there are any known issues with W2K/MSI Pro2-a/GeForce DDR combination? Thanks! :)

I've found some info on this. I'll adjust some of my BIOS settings. I'm going to try the following:

1. Enable "Assign IRQ to VGA". (Which is my current setting)
2. Disable "VGA Palette Snoop". (Which is my current setting)
3. Disable "Video BIOS Cache" and "Video BIOS Shadow". (I need to
change this. I currently have it enabled)
4. Disable "C800-CBFFF Shadow" or similar options. (Which is my
current setting)
5. Set AGP Aperture Size to about 1/2 System memory. (It's currently
at 64 and I have 256MB memory so I'll change it to 128).

If none of these changes work then I will probably install Creative's drivers for this card instead of NVidia to see if it makes any difference.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks! :)
