I switched from a celeron system to a T-bird 1gig/MSi Pro2A recently.. and now all of my IDE devices are incredibly slow. Hard drive access times are ridiculous.. emptying the recycling bin takes multiple minutes.. my cd drives ripping time has been cut in half and my plextor 12x will only burn at 6x.. does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Thanks for any help in advance..

Did you install all the drivers that came on the cd.
Also, did you check the DMA box in the device manager for your hard drive?

If you already got the older version it's ok to just install those on top even if you've already installed all your other drivers. (Heard it's best to install the drivers b4 anything and was just curious).
