Hey, I'd like to get the Pro-2A, but I simply can't afford to format C at the present time. I'm running W2K. In the past I have installed new mainbaord drivers with the old mainboard in, then when the system called for reboot just shut it down and switched out the boards. Worked like a charm before and I've run that board for well over a year with no problems. Anyone tried something like this with the Pro2A or any other KT-133 board?

I used to have a K6-2 300, I upgraded the whole system without reformatting C:/.
Maybe god was on my side, fighting off the Microsoft evils!!! :)
You can only try, but just make sure that you BACKUP everything that may be important, if (god forbid) anything wrong should happen.
Good Luck :) (you may need it)

Look for my post in this thread. IMO thats the best procedure and thats how i upgraded from BX board w/ P3 to my MSI K7T Pro w/ Athlon T-bird.

I might add that ever since i upgraded, i have yet to experience a crash, bluescreen or any other form of instability, which were common day appearances with the BX setup..

Hope this helps,
