😕
1st.post - ordered the Pro2 from Mwave on 11/4 - checked status today
and indeed the description changed to Pro - called Mwave Internet sales dept.and was told that if I e-mail a cancel and note the person I spoke with, they will ship a Pro2 in 3 weeks at the price advertised ($111.00).
??? - is it worth the wait? This is my first computer build project on
my own - (helped on the Socket 7 I am on now). Thanks to AnandTech and
the forums, I think I can do it.
Advise, please and thanks

mmm,

The Pro2 should be yummy..........

but......

if it's a 3 week wait, I'd recommend going with
another highly rated board that supports
multiplier adjustments (although with dips)
but also adds ata100 capability that the even
the pro2 lacks as of now.

That board is the Epox EP-8KTA2

Just like the pro2 a couple weeks ago, there
are a couple of stores selling this board a touch early

search in pricewatch and find four stores selling it now

I tried Lynn computer products, just ya see if they're reliable.

thanks

Damn mwave...they're not giving me a k7t pro2...it was a "typo," which is bs since people have been getting it. msi probably told them to stop selling the boards...oh well. I'll just wait for fvcking ddr, my kt7 is fine.

My pro 2 is a pro 2..I WILL SEND YOU SOME PICS TONIGHT...

I have FSB adjustments auto ocing and is running like a cat trying to get out of water!!!!!!

THIS IS THE PRO2!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry to hear about your misfourtune loogie. I think you are right about MSI making Multiwave stop selling the board. I wonder how MSI found out?

i don't doubt that you guys did get the pro2...but i think the dudes that were in doubt deluged msi with emails asking if those were, in fact, the pro2's at mwave. mwave probably investigated and got pissed... i really don't understand why they won't just release the board...they lost one customer here. i don't give a damn about their supposed stability.

Just got my Pro2 big ass silver caps... time to slap it in my new antec sx1030b case 🙂
Thanks for the heads up, whoever listed this originally in hot deals..

So, Mwave is back to selling the Pro for a couple of weeks till MSI says they can sell the Pro2. I think I could handle waiting a couple of weeks. I mean the DDR boards aren't gonna be around in quanities for a couple of months, right? And, what kinda of outlay for ram are we talking about?

I ordered two Pro 2's last sat. well I just recieved them today. Both are Pro2's! YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAWW!

I love the boards - thanks guys!!!! Time to slap in some Durons goodness!

🙂

just fvcking rub it in...bastard 🙂 motherfvcking mwave is having problems with their emails or something because they're not answering and I still have yet to receive the return label. Christ, i hate this company...and I don't care how many people give these bastards glowing reviews, they suck in my book.

<insert gloating here>

not too shabby 🙂
</insert gloating here>

i've been using mwave for about 3 years, awesome prices always, quick shipping (and reasonable shipping charges), quick UPS ground delivery. highly suggested.

i also dig their $90 / 128megs tinyBGA memory (got mine to do cas2 @ 143mhz).

Hey, caliper, whats 3 weeks. Nothing. You'll get the proccessor for $15 cheaper. I think this Motherboard was worth the wait. But, If you settle on getting the Pro version all your giving up is a much simplified means of overclocking and four blinking lights you can't see without the cover off the case. If your not going to try to push your hardware to the limit(110mhz bus vs. 109mhz bus vs. 108mhz bus, etc.)I think you'll be satisfied with the Pro. This beening said, I Love My Pro2!

Hey,Squisher: thanks
Thanks to all for the info - have elected to wait - this will be the first board I plan to overclock with: the discussion concerning the ease
of use, along with the statements of stability convinced me. Hopefully it will be released no later than right after COMDEX is over.
Later

I also had a similar experience, ordered EPOX EP-8KTA+ MB and received EPOX EP-8KTA (nonplus) version.

I sent email to them, and hopefully will get resolved soon.

I thought Mwave was my little secret but apparently a lot of people know about this company. They are on my short list of places to buy computer hardware. Even if they are a little higher in price (and they usually are not) I buy from them because it is just as hassle free as you can get. MSI Pro 2 you say... hmmm might need to make another puter..
