Hey all, I've had my msi pro2a for a few months now, great board. I use the software that comes on the CD called PC alert III to monitor cpu and case temps. Yes I know the readings are off. Anyways, in the program there is an item called "Intrusion" which is always Open. I checked the manual and couldn't find out any information. Is there a jumper or bios setting where I can disable this so this software doesn't think my case is always open.

I don't think that is a feature of the Pro2a....The program is generic for all MSI boards....I don't remember seeing it in the bios....My MSI 815e pro had it in bios.

They say all socket a boards are off because the thermistor is in the hollow part of the socket. Meaning its taking the temperature of the air underneath the core. I usually estimate the true readings of the core to be 8-10F higher than what the motherboard readings are.

Talking about CPU temps, I have a MSI Pro2A and Athlon 750 Mhz, which I just installed. The CPU temp, after settling down is about 65C and the montherboard temp is about 40C. That seems a little high to me. I know that I installed the heatsink/fan properly (blue thermal tape), yes I did remove the pink sheet on top of it. The heatsink/fan is something like a CoolMaster (looks similar to the Taisol 73 series). One thing is that the PS is mounted vertical and the CPU is therefore mounted behind it, with the AGP card sealing in some of that heat as well. The temps are with one side of the mid-tower case open. Both the case fan and PS fan are operating properly. Is this reading high for a Pro2A MB? Any suggestions? Thanks.
