So my i7 based machine is based upon this puppy right here...
MSi N460GTX-M2D1GD5/OC
http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N460GTX-M2D1GD5-OC.html
And unfortunately, it is known for a power loop issue where it will not boot. It tries, then fails, then retries and fails, rinse, repeat.
I had no knowledge of this when I purchased the board back in march of this year and it has worked flawlessly up until this weekend. Now i see 20% of the reviews at NewEgg mention this issue. Ouch.
I'm still messing around with memory, hoping that maybe that is causing this. If not...
Motherboard replacement to me is the nuclear option. I am NOT proficient with PC's. Installing this system was very difficult for me.So the thought of doing it all over again is crushing.
Advice: Do I go with MSi and send in for a replacement with the same board? It looks like these boards still suffer from this issue. God, I do not not want to do this again.
Do I try and get a credit with NewEgg for another board and if so, which one?
I have filled every single SATA port in this thing. I don't care about 6.0 speed. 3.0 is fine. But again, I absolutely must have the same amount of ports or more. And I need to be able to use all my current RAM, drives, etc.
Here are some of the specs of my system...
Rosewill Challenger ATX mid-tower
Antec BP550 Plus 550W
Two sets of G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL
MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX
