Since it took me some time to figure out how to overclock this motherboard, I thought I share my current bios setting. This might help other MSI owners.

While the OC Genie worked and I could also manually overclock, both options seemed to turned off the Intel Speed Stepping. I wanted to OC the Turbo only and keep the idle speed at 1.6Ghz. Below settings allows this. I have the Turbo set to 4.2Gig (mild OC) without messing with voltages (all auto).

Ok so what are your idle & full load temps...? Also is it stable doing the OC this way...? If so what have your ran it though...?

BTW I have a MSI P67A-GD53 is the reason I want to know... Have mine OC`d with the multi to 4.6Ghz with 1.310 and idle temps are 27-31C depending on room temp and full load is about 60-63C unless I crank the fans up on both the case and the H70, then full load temp is around 54-55C...

Just realized something you mentioned was about speedstep turning off when you did a manual OC...? How are you determining this...? I`ve noticed some programs we use like Core Temp does not show proper Mhz with this board, however Aida64 does show Speedstep working with a manual OC with my setup...

First, yes it is stable. Prime95 for 24 hours.

Second, Idle temps are 28C-30C (1600MHz). Load teams never hit 60C (high 50's) (4.0 Ghz)

As for speed stepping, when I adjusted the "Adjust CPU Ratio [default 33]" to any other values (say 40), the CPU would boot to 4.0Ghz and stay there. Never idle down to 1.6Ghz. I used Control Center II to monitor the CPU speed. And CPUID to monitor the temps. Temps confirmed the CPU was at 4.0 Ghz.

I'm not sure why changing this value turned off speed stepping, but it did. My new method of OC was something I found on the MSI forum. Folks with P67A boards appear to use the "Core Ratio Limit" values to OC. So tried it and it worked.

Finally, I'm sure I could get to 4.6Ghz, but would need to add more fans. Don't want the noise, so 4.0Ghz on 4 cores is fine by me.

I would like to see what you actual voltage was instead of just saying it was on Auto. Are you sure that it did not increase above the normal voltage?
