Great O/Cing board and I will be adding an E8400 to round out my build when they become available.

Sounds like I'm building the same rig as the OP. What is the $5 pricegrabber rebate though?

Stop! don't no body grab my price grabber rebate ... seriously, I have noticed the recent trend of budget P35s going bit higher than last year. Is this shortage due to some new boards coming up? anyone know ?

not to forget .. THanks for posting OP!

How does this board compare to the IP35-E?

Where is the pricegrabber $5 rebate that was mentioned?

This does appear to be the cheapest seller for this board that I can find.

the gigabyte p35-ds3l is good too, just that it won't boot w/ a 45nm cpu w/out a bios flash :(

I wasn't going to buy a new motherboard, but I couldn't resist. :) I really hate to do a rebuild but I think it will be worth the effort as everyone talks about how good these boards are, p35's in general.

mwave.com is selling the MSI P35 Neo2-FR for $116.50 before $20 MIR, Use coupon code FORME10 (exp. 1-31) on any order $100 or more and save $10

$116.50 - $20 MIR - $10 coupon = $86.50 + shipping
or Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 for $209.00 - $10 coupon = $199 + shipping

Also 2% cash back through that F wallet site

Thanks a lot for that! After the rebate, shipping, and fat cash, I'll get this for $92.74. It will pair up nicely with the $250 Q6600, the $12 (AR) 4GB of RAM, and $170 2900Pro I just bought.

Today has been a good day!!!

Just received the MSI P35 Neo2-FR today and it looks good with the cool looking copper heatpipe system, I'm going to have to buy a case with a window for this MB, now all I need is everything else. :)

Got mine yesterday, so far i am impressed. It shipped with bios 1.6. Waiting on my Tuniq Tower to arrive to replace the HYPER TX cooler. Running my xeon x3210 @ 2800 and Gskill ddr 800 @ 1000. Temp is a little high for my liking, but the Tuniq should remedy that problem.

Thanks again for the dealio OP! :)

Have it and love it, only issues - S3 hibernation is all buggy, supposedly fixed in the 1.8beta bios, but i don't trust beta's for my bios. Also, there is an issue with enabling EIST and cpuvoltage moving around. Besides that, um, downsides... can't think of much more.

This was by far the easiest build i ever had. Just had three motherboard drivers to install (4 if you are going with a raid setup) and they all worked perfectly. overclocking is a breeze, just a solid board and I don't know why more people don't like MSI on this forum. I am not particular to any given brand, this board replaced an ASUS and i have owned other brands as well. Enjoy!

I built a system around this board a few days ago. I got it from Newegg and the BIOS was 1.1. I flashed to 1.7 and then found that there was a new BIOS category (I think it's called "User Settings") with 2 slots to backup the BIOS settings, similar to DFI's BIOS Reloaded. I was coming from a DFI board and I was really going to miss that feature; I'm thrilled to have it back! I haven't noticed it mentioned in any of the BIOS descriptions or in the manual, though. It was just a great surprise.
