I'm getting ready to replace a X800Pro with a X1800XT 512MB card, which seems to be a great deal at this time. The egg has both with rebates and pretty good prices.

Is the HIS worth the $30 more than the MSI after the rebates? I have about $350 to spend, after that the WAF (wife acceptance factor) goes down.

I've read really good reviews for just about all the X1800XT cards and I'm a AMD and ATI kinda guy.

Always found ANANDTECH the best source for info on the net, so help me out.

No, both are fine.. same fan, same chip, same everything except brands I assume. Just go with the cheaper one.

Check out their warranties. Choose the one that appeals to you the most.

The HIS is better, because they use the Arctic Silencers on all of their high end cards

Be advised that although HIS does offer several cards with Artic silencer coolers,
its not included with all of them.. for example my HIS X1900XTX purchased from Newegg a month or so back has the standard cooler only.
After a quick look at the HIS website, the cards which have the Artic Silencer are called "Ice-Q" & the only X1800 shown in the product line is the X1800 GTO, they may have made another model thats discontinued but I'd bet you'll pay at least a small price premium.
