which is better MSI K8N Neo Platinum nForce3 250Gb or the Chaintech VNF3-250 nForce3 250? I am getting a amd64 3200 which should i go with or is there a better mobo then these two.

A vote for the Chaintech here. Just built a computer a week ago with an a64 2800+ and the Chaintech based on the forums recommendations and it worked flawlessly right out of the box, detected the processor and memory right the first time i turned the computer on. Also comes with good documentation imho.

The MSI board has more features than the Chaintech board such as gigabit ethernet, a firewall integrated into the chipset, firewire, and better onboard sound. If these features are important to you, go ahead and get this board.

If these features don't matter to you, get the VNF3-250. This board is very stable, cheap, and a great overclocker. Personally, I use this board with my Athlon 64 3000+ which is overclocked from 2Ghz to 2.4Ghz. I have no regrets buying this board. 🙂

Once again, if you don't need the extra features on the MSI board, get the Chaintech board and pocket the extra $50 you save for other upgrades.

MSI has slightly better performance. Chaintech has significantly better reliability, perhaps because they don't add as much junk to their board.
