plz help me what to buy gf4 ui 4400 msi or asus the asus is 80~100$ more expensive shoud i buy the asus or the msi

😀 Buy the MSI dude! Chipset dictates 99% of perf and features anyway.

😉 However the 4200 at $150 is a much smarter buy. 4.0ns models (the majority of 4200) o/c to 300+550, 3.6ns versions o/c to 300+600, and that goes for both 128MB and 64MB versions despite what you may have read. Fancy HSF and RAM HS are a waste of time. Perhaps pay a little extra to get the better brand name, but $80 is ridiculous! Of course 4400 do o/c, but expect to go from 275+550 to 300+620 (3.6ns). If you find a 4400 with 3.3ns then expect to get to 300+700, but that is only usually found on 4600 cards. If you've got the cash then a 4600 would be a better buy than a 4400, if not then a 4200 would be more sensible depending upon how you find the privce diffs locally.

😀 Here's some 3Dmarks benchmarks to give you a good idea of the diffs on an AthlonXP1800+ (gfx card: total marks, game1 high detail FPS, game2 high detail FPS, game3 high detail FPS, nature DX8 FPS):

1024x768x32:
4200: 10500, 54, 109, 66, 57
4400: 11000, 57, 115, 72, 46
4600: 11000, 54, 116, 68, 66

1024x768x32xAA:
4200: 7400, 42, 77, 50, 30
4400: 7600, 44, 76, 53, 49
4600: 8200, 46, 86, 53, 36

1600x1200x32:
4200: 6000, 46, 62, 46, 19
4400: 6500, 47, 67, 46, 21
4600: 7200, 50, 74, 51, 23

1280x1024x32xAA:
4200: 4700, 39, 47, 32, 16
4400: 6000, 45, 60, 40, 26 (dubious result, but only match)
4600: 6000, 43, 61, 42, 20

😉 For all benchmarks I quote the average result, not the top which is usually a fake or simply unobtainable for 99.9% of people even with the same setup. The exception is the 1280x1024x32xAA scores which only had 1 result submitted for each card!

Get a Gainward Ti4200 instead.

Gainward is considdered the best in 2D quality of the GeForce brands, along with LeadTek perhaps.
And I have a LeadTek GeForce3 Ti200, and while the 2D isn't horrible(The 2D on my Creative GF DDR was), it isn't good enough, and I don't even wanna think about how the 2D is on "lesser" cards.

I have both the MSI GeForce4 Ti4400 and the Asus GeForce4 Ti4400. I like the MSI one better because they give you a lot of software. Four full version games, a few demos, WinProducer, WinCoder (or so they say, I didn't get it on my disk), WinProducer and WinCoder Professional pack so you can play Divx and make VCD's, Mpeg-4 Compression Software and other stuff, and some DVD software if you have a DVD drive. Plus the MSI card has more features in Windows than the Asus one.

I have my MSI card running with my AthlonXP 2100+ CPU, Asus A7V266-C Mobo, 512mb (2x256mb) PC2100 Crucial Memory, and Windows Me. The Asus card is with my Pentium4 2.26Ghz CPU, 1024Mb (4x256mb) Kingston and Samsung Rambus PC1066 Memory, Asus P4T533-C Mobo, and WinXp Professional. I will post benchmarks later if you like. I have other stuff in the computers but I didn't want to list them.

I recommend MSI because they give you a lot more than everyone else.

LEADTEK.... =))).. it has a impressive heatsink and protective foam over the fans to protect it from dust ..

😀 2 very nice systems Wynner3, which is your personal favourite? How do they compare to each other in games. If you like I'd be more than happy to take your least favourite PC off your hands ... 😉
