msi neo4 platinum + opteron???

hi all,
i am thinking to upgrade my cpu from 3000+ to opteron 165 dual core or x2 3800+. My question is if i buy the opteron do i have to buy a new mobo because opteron is 940 socket or its fine its gonna work???

everyone says opteron is better choise for oc thats why i am aksing.

Opteron 165 is socket 939, so if you have a socket 939 moo, you are set.

opteron as they have been reported to clock higher, and have twice the cache. im looking at getting a new proc and ram for my mobo and i would be choosing the 165 opteron if i can

my final question will be do i have to buy new registered ram??? or i can use my current corsair value?????

No need for registered ram. Your current ram will be fine.
