Edit 2: Read on some other forum that I might have a bad driver or some driver is not compatable with one another. Does anyone running this Mobo/video card setup, let me know what version drivers you're running. Thanks a lot
after my horrible install http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=32&threadid=1568479">experience</a>, I finally managed to install WinXP with SP2 on my new comp. Installed Norton Ghost and Firefox. Then the horror begins... AGAIN. BSOD!! I haven't seen those for a while. I've seen 2 types of BSOD so far
1. DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL <- get this from casual surfing, when idle, basically anything
2. BAD_POOL_CALLER
I've seen #1 before, usually is some hardware conflicts, I go to the bios and disabled the secondary SATA controller (SIL), parallal port, and the Other (non nVidia) onboard NIC. Remove the bad stick of memory (ran Memtest86 on this and get errors on test 6 and 7), so I'm only running with one 1Gb stick. Boot back to windows. don't see BSOD #1 anymore.
then #2 come up when I click on the start menu when I's doing a Ghost backup. Could these BSOD cause by a Bad Motherboard? or bad Video card? or Bad driver/software? or CPU too hot (at 39C when I boot up, haven't check while it's running/under load, running on the AMD Retail box HS/Fan) Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks In Advance.
System Specs:
CPU = AMD 64 3200+ 90nm
Ram = 2Gb Mushkin dual pack <- now running just one 1Gb stick
Mobo = MSI Neo4 Plat SLI
Video Card = ASUS 6600GT top
PowerSupply/Case = Antec NeoPower 480W/Lian Li 6070 plus
HD = WD Raptor 74Gb, Maxtor 200Gb 7200rpm
CD/DVD = Generic
Floppy = Generic
EDIT: Just got another BSOD, #1 while I's installing A120%
