Reality Time what you said:

((rofl. well done msi. tell me, does your windows still recognize the port and if you hook it up to a cable modem or some such thing it does recognize as cable connected, BUT the port still doesn't work ? As that is what mine is like. rofl. msi you wh0res.))

That is exactly my problem. Worked fine since I got it like four months other than the disconnections I was getting these last 6 weeks or so and only every other day for no reason I could figure. Revision 1.0 btw. Could be the first revision of the board has issues AS PER NORM, lol. When I got the problem I also remembered reading a post about someones port going bad on this mobo.

I'm pretty sure I have the rev 1 as well, lol, I've never bothered to check when I work on it. But I got it around the time they started to be widely available. Also had mine about 4 months now as well, so I think it is just a crappy quality thing, and eventually the port fubars. If the second one goes, I'm going to rma, if not I'll just keep the thing.

My MSI board went completely fubar. Gonna RMA asap, but I don't think it was MSI's fault. I think I fried it myself with socks and carpet and no wrist strap :p

Well, my second Ethernet port is now going bad because when playing WOW I keep getting strange disconnections. I updated my router and MSI drivers with the newest live update and the problem remains. So I installed my old pci ethernet card and problem is completely gone. Now I have decisions to make.
