Hey all,
I'm still overly confused at the entire DRAM configuration methods.
I presently have a system that will not properly pass memtest86 (something like 33,000 errors) when running a set of OCZ memory, dual-channel on a K8N Neo2 Platinum.
I see the markings on the modules themselves, but I'm not sure how to compare the settings marked on the module to the DRAM Configuration on the motherboard.
As is, I took the OCZ kit and tried it on my ASUS A8N-E motherboard, and still had issues.
The following is how my BIOS DRAM Configuration is:
TCL - 2.5
TRAS - 7T
TRCD - 3T
TRP - 3T
TRC - 11T
TRFC - 24T
TRWT - 4T
TRQ - 3T
1T/2T memory timing - 2T
Now, on the module itself, I see:
2.5 - 3 - 3 - 7
I have no idea how to get these numbers to match the ones in the BIOS. Which numbers are these referring to in the BIOS configuration, and do I need to manually change the BIOS to match the RAM?
I put my DDR400 RAM in the K8N Neo2 Platinum, some cheaper stuff I already had, and it runs flawless in memtest86 and in Windows. What am I missing here? Can anyone try and explain this to me in lamens terms?
I appreciate any and all help!
Thanks!
