Hi y'all!
This post is quite long, but please do not feel discourage by this fact, because the issue is critical. I have no idea what to do and I beg for help
!!
I have just recived my new ram which isOCZ Gold Series 1gb. After I installed it in my system i run HL2, however the game quit due to "system critucal error" after just, approximately, 30second. Same was with Doom3 but after that the system rebooted. Since then my computer wouldn't boot, and a black screen would appear instead of screen of loading of Windows. After couple reboots instead of black screen a screen of death started to show for like half a second and computer would reboot. Thinking it might be a hdd issue ( i had some problems 1 year ago with my current hdd which looked similar) i decided to format the C drive and reinstall my os. However after process of formatting the screen of "Checking the C drive" was staying for half an hour and there was no sign of movement (normaly the process of checking the X drive before installing the os takes couple of seconds). Seeing that there is no progress i restarted the computer but same thing happened 2 more times. I installed my old ram (OCZ Platinium Series pc3200 2-3-2-5 2x256) and the installations of the Windows Xp was successful on the secon try ( on first try one of the files couldn't be installed). When the Window Xp was installed i put back my new ram and tried to install the SP2, however right after the process of unpackig the files for the installation the computer rebooted. I tired it 2 more times but same thing happened. However when i installed the old ram the installation went smoothly. After the installation of the SP2 i put back the new ram to see if it's ok. I installed the mobo drivers and rebooted. Everything fine. Installed the Lan card and rebooted. Everthing fine. Installed mobo utilities and rebooted...the screen of death started to appear instead of loading the Windows again! I installed the old ram and the windows booted fine!!!!! Losing any hope to make any use of my new ram I decided to install it in slots 3&4 ( so far i only tried slot 1&2) and they work fine. Ran doom for 5 min and nothing. Ran windows for couple of hours during installing of the driver, rebooted computer several times and nothing happens.
So how is that possible? I thought this mobo has only issues with OCZ EB? Does anyone had similar problem, anyone knows how can I fix this bug?
Another thing is that during my bios load the memory timing is 2.5-3-3-7. I changed it manually ( it was set to auto) to 2.0 however i still got 2-3-3-7 instead of 2-2-2-5 which I paid extra money for. The cpu-z shows same thing 2.0-3-3-7-12-16 and in "SPD Timings Table it even shows 2.5-3-3-7. What is wrong?! My former memory was always working on timings, which OCZ claimed it would work (2-3-2-5) even when the CAS letancy in Bios was set to "Auto". How can I lower the timings of my new memory? Why desn't it boot at 2-2-2-5 as it's supposed to ?! Is something wrong with it or is it normal and I am supposed to do it manually? Does it have sth to do with BH-5??
Please, please help!!!
I appreciate any input!!!
