Well, I couldn't wait for the Asus A7V, so I just picked this one up in the mean time. Hmm, now I have something I'm going to need to sell soon.

Anyway, how does it overclock? Being that I just got it today, and haven't experimented much this is somewhat premature, but it will not boot ANY custom fsb settings. Not a single one. Not even 102. Strange. Other than that the motherboard seems solid. Not one problem yet. Well, been using it all day, and no hang ups at all.

The chip is a TBird 800MHz that I picked up at MWAVE, btw, for you guys near (L.A., O.C., S.B., So Cal counties) you can get one there, and its priced the same as the best price shown on Techreviews weekly cpu price chart (259), so you don't have to wait for it to ship, just pick it up will call.

Anyway, just wanted to give you guys a preview of this mobo's o.c. capabilities.

I also have the Socket-A 800mhz Tbird CPU and a MSI K7Tpro. I've been able to run 107mhz FSB when I bumped voltage up to 1.8v. 111mhz is stable in Windows, but Quake3 crashes if I enter the console. I noticed that setting K7_CLK setting in BIOS from OPTIMAL to DEFAULT made FSB much more overclockable. It also doesn't seem to affect performance.

BTW, this motherboard is rock-solid stable. Outside overclocking tests, I haven't been able to crash this computer once. I'm also using old 230W POS PSU, two unbranded PC100 DIMMS and a V6600 Deluxe GeForce w/ AGP4X, sidebanding and fast writes enabled. VIA KT133 chipset seems to be much better than I presumed it to be.

i heard that the multiplier can be adjusted thru multipliers if there is a bios update in future that support that
go to www.motherboards.org and read the review on msi6340 the k7tpro wan mentioned

and the review on k7tpro
it said that the bios support freq, multiplier, voltage adjustments
and it was using phonex bios

was wondering if this was true ?
can anyone clarify this?
