Got a new AMD XP 1800 Thoroughbred processor.

Put in in my msi K7T266 Pro2-RU.

No post!

I had an Athlon 1.4GHz T-Bird in it.

I put the old processor back in, and it still works...

I try the Thoroughbred again, still no go...

I'm thinking that the CPU is messed up, but to be sure I try it in an ECS K7S5A...

Works fine!

Try one more time on the msi motherboard... nothing

The msi is supposed to support up to XP 2600 I thought.

Anyone know why some motherboards won't work with a Thoroughbred ?

I have the exact same problem: XP 1700 tbred on MSI K7T266 Pro2 won't post, put the old XP 1500 in and all is fine. I flashed to bios to what I believe is the latest version (ver 3.7), cleared the cmos and still nothing. Anybody know what to do? Hellllllllpppp!!!!!
