Hey guys

Does anyone know how to set a custom RAM frequency on an MSI 865PE Neo2-S board? I have DDR400, but want to run at like 350MHz, so that when I overclock (I want to take my FSB to 229 MHz, so that my P4 2.8C will give me 3206MHz), the memory will be running at 408 MHz. With my board, it appears to be running a 1:2 ratio for FSB vs. RAM frequency, i.e. a 1 MHz FSB increase translates to 2 MHz on the RAM.

I've also looked at ways of changing my FSB to RAM frequency ratio, but still haven't been able to work it out. Does anyone perhaps know how to do this? :confused:

When I recently tried overclocking my PC, I took it to 229 MHz FSB, but of course my memory was then running at 458 MHz! Of course, my PC ran for like a minute before rebooting itself. :Q I did increase the FSB in increments of 5-10 MHz at a time, but couldn't obviously reach my goal FSB.

Any advice would be welcome!

If the ratio is FSB:Ram say it's 4:5 You take you fsb x 4/5 to get your ram speed.
If it was 200Mhz fsb x4=800/5= 160Mhz. You cpu fsb would be running 200Mhz while your memory was running at 160Mhz.

In the part of the bios where you overclock on that board there is a ram setting.

DDR400= 1:1
DDR333= 5:4
DDR266= 3:2
