MSI lightning gtx 580 driver question

when I installed this card I simply went for the newest online drivers from nvidia first.

my question is.. should I find the specific MSI drivers that are supposed to do things like overclock this and monitor the GPU's temperature? will it interfer with the nvidia driver ?
 
Install the latest drivers from Nvidia's website, then get MSI Afterburner to overvolt/overclock.

This. You should use MSI AB from the driver CD, it is version 2.1. I'd suggest NOT using the beta version of afterburner 2.2 , it has some problems compared to 2.1
