Just assembled this board. 700 Mhz Thunderbird, 256 PC-133. BIOS version 2.0, VIA 4in1 v.4.25a

Added (2) Maxtor 20 GB. (1) supports UDMA 100, (1) suports UDMA 66. Both drives are on Primary IDE cable..

PROBLEM:

When copying files from 1 drive to the other or idle for some time, screen will go blank and system will freeze... Only solution is to hard reset... This began to occur after I installed the UDMA 100 drive. The POST screen shows 1 drive @ UDMA 100 and 1 @ UDMA 66...

Cards Installed:

(1) Modemblaster 56 PCI
(1) Soundblaster Live! Value

All cards have current drivers.

OS Installed:

Windows ME (All curent drivers)

Try putting them on seperate Ide's, Put one on the primary Ide and the other on the Secondary Ide. If that works, You'll get better performance than having them both on the same IDE cable.
Let me know how it goes.
