I've been using Win 98 SE, but yesterday I installed Win 2k and I love it. The only problem is, my sound card will not work with it. How can I get it to work?

Did you install the drivers? They are on the CD that came with the disk. Beyond that? Well, I thought the sound sucked more than anythign else I've ever heard and bought a Live!.

the Pro2a is a good board, but the on-board sound is useless.

you have to go into the bios to disable the sound. Disable "onchip sound" and onboard sound. TO get the sound to work in w2k go to www.viahardware.com and get the w2k sounds drivers for the mobo.

To disable unwanted integrated components, go to the bios. Its usually under "integrated perpharels", but could be else where.

I've had problems with the onboard sound... it'll work for awhile and then it'll just cut out sometimes with a high pitch squeal... so I just put in a SBLive and all is dandy... Getting the SBLive to work properly was a whole other story... ;)... Now if I can only get my DVD player to stop crashing when I play movies... Arrrrgh!!
