MSI KT7 Pro and Wake on ring function.

I have an external 56K Rockwell type modem and I´m trying to make the "Wake on ring" function to work. I have enabled the function through BIOS, modem IRQ number is 3, IRQ 3 is also enabled, the modem is on, the phone rings, the modem LEDs are showing activity BUT the PC doesn´t boot. Am I doing something wrong?
P.S. The specific modem was working fine with my previous socket 7 motherboard on the same ATX case.😕
