hi, i would like to know if this motherboard (or any other wich has SATA interface) is backwards compatible with ultra ATA.

Yes, up to Ultra ATA/133.

I'm running an AXP 2500+ with the KT6V-LSR mobo (non "Delta" model) and I have an 80GB UATA133 PATA drive running right now. No probs.

Doesn't matter. KT600 is paired only with VT8237 or VT8235 Southbridges, both of which support up to Ultra ATA/133.
