I have just recently purchased the above built it with a radeon 9600pro with 1GHz memory. My problem is that after i have installed Win XP and gone the system on control panel it shows a 1.8Ghz processor. The only way i can get it to reconise that its a 2.4 is to change the settings on the BIOS menu to fast settings. Please could anybody tell me what to change on the bios to get it to reconise properly.

Thanks in advance

To get the correct processer speed, it'll have to be set to 133 MHz FSB (Front Side Bus) or 166 MHz in the CMOS. Usually there is a "User Define" FSB setting to change it to.

I'm not too sure what FSB to tell you to set it, AMD doesn't make a 2.4 GHz processer. They have a 2400+ which runs at 2.0 GHz, so I'm guessing that is what you have.

Your FSB seems to be set at 100 MHz:

100 MHz FSB * 15 (multiplier) = 1,500 MHz ( close to an 1800+)

Whne it should be set to 133 MHz FSB

133 MHz FSB * 15 = 2,000 MHz (2400+)
