I purchased a MSI KT4v motherboard yesterday, new athlon 1800xp, new DDR 512-2700 ram, use a 1 month old 400w powersupply, everything else standard equip. Problem is this, when I turn the power on the computer beeps 3 times, the display bracket(code led): shows memory failure. So tested 2 different DDR modules both different brands individually, same thing, no difference, so I bring my computer to the store, talk to a tech guy there for a bit, he puts in a new 512mb ram, computer boots up flawlessly. I take the computer home, same thing happens, 3 beeps does no boot up. Ok so disconnect the powercord couple of times and the computer boots up flawlessly, I run the computer for 5 hours, runs perfectly, run every application and games I have, everything runs great, even reboot 5-6 times. Now this morning I turn the computer on, 3 beeps...disconnect powercord, turn power on and off etc for 10 mins and then it boots up. I have checked the MB for shorts/if it touches metal, nothing its installed perfectly. Now I suspect its the motherboard or the powersupply, not sure, maybe that my ram does not get enough power, not sure. Please help someone
