Need Advice.
I thought I would try some cheap speed, a step toward 64 bits someday way in the future.
So I took out my 1800+ to try a mobile 2400+. I do not have any real experience OCing but have read some and felt I could putz around a bit with some mild numbers but....
My KT4 Ultra seems to only know one speed, 2255 Mhz no mater what multiplier or fsb I set in CMOS, it runs @ 13.5*167. Only adjust I can seem to do is up the core voltage (to 1.675) It boots fine and smokes sandra 2004 with better than 3200+ specs. but gives up the ghost on prime 95 in 6 or 7 minutes of torture test.
Anyone with some advice on how to gain control of this pup?
Thanks
Heres the run down:
MSI 6590 MB (KT4Ultra) Bios 1.40
XP2400+ 45 watt mobile, Windows XP
Thermalright ALX-800 Heatsink (Copper base, alum fins) 80mm Vantec fan @ 2150 RPM
MB monitor shows CPU @ 26 C as I write this, though it got up to 45 C on prime 95
Kingston Value Ram 2 sticks of 256 MB PC2700
Antec True Power 330 watt (low I know but I only have 1 case fans and 1 HD)
MSI G4 MX440 vid. card
