i have purchased the msi kt3 ultra2 via kt333 chipset mother board.I have a amd athlon 1800+ xp processor and a geforce 4 ti 4200 graphics card.256mb of ddr 333.The computer starts up and says its to hot when it isn't even doing anything. The processor gets up to 50 degress c it has a 60 mil heatsink and fan and an exhaust fan blowing out the back.Constantly crashing. Its os is windows 98.Also my mother board did'nt come with a fan on the chipset.Any idea's?

try reseating the Heatsink/Fan on the CPU. if there is not solid contact it may not be doing an optimal job of dispersing the CPU's heat.

also, use a quality thermal goop like Artic Silver or Artic Alumina not the generic white stuff that comes w/ most heatsinks or those thermal pads.

I have an Ultra Kt3 and the #3 mem slot crapped out on me... Other than that it works just great, but I have ordered the Asus Deluxe mobo because of the onboard firewire for video editing purpose. Also have an 2800XP Barton w/ highpoint raid controller card on the way... can't wait for Monday!
