I just recently put together an athlon rig, but when all was finished the floppy drive always had the access light on and would not read any disks. Figuring that it was just the floppy drive I ordered another. Floppy drive came in and exact same problem!! Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is? Any questions/comments would be very appreciated.

Ok, I'll try a different cable,(that means going on a little trip) and will come back and see if that helps. Hopefully it will!

did a new floppy cable fix it?

I have the sme problem with the same board...hummm

Also, my cd rom thats a sec slave to a CDRW is not reading cds. W2k OS.

I have that Mobo and no pb with the floppy drive.

I agree with above. The most common problem is to plug the cable right. usually, on the floppy drive end, it is my experience that the red line should be on the left, or towardsthe inside. It is easier on the motherboard end, because there is a little hole in the middle of the connector.
