MSI KM4M/Windows98SE/audio problems

I am putting together a computer for a co-worker and I have everything up and running and working EXCEPT the onboard audio. Windows98SE detects a PCI Multimedia Device and I install the drivers, but the only thing that shows up in the Device Manager under the Sound, video and game controller section is the Realtek AC 97 audio multimedia controller, there are no Audio drivers or anything listed. I don't get sound from the computer and when I try and play a CD or anything it says there is no preferred playback device. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hmm.. I've got 98se on an MSI KT3 Ultra (Via chipset) and it's never been a problem, and unlike the nForce mobo, doesn't need a patch for the sound w/98se.

Have you gone to Realtek's site and looked for the driver? (That mobo seems to offer the 6 channel sound which I don't have, btw).

Have you checked out the DX Diag? The part for sound?
