MSI K9N2 Diamond + PNY 9800 GTX+ posts but won't boot

I'm running a MSI KN92 Diamond mobo + Phenom II 955 BE, 4GB DDR2 RAM. I've been running fine for a few months with the on-board video. Finally picked up a new PNY XLR8 9800GTX+ video card...

When I plug the card in, the system posts, detects drives, but then stops before the NVRAM check and never attempts to boot off a drive.

I've tried reverting to the on-board video, installing the NVIDIA drivers, but still no luck.

I don't have another PCI-E card to try. I'm using the first PCI-E slot (As recommended in the mobo user manual) since I'm not running SLI.

Help!!

Does the card have a power connector? Is it connected?

Yep. I've tried two different PSUs... the card is detected by the sysetm - I can see the card BIOS info when the PC first posts...

The card seems to work - I have the monitor plugged into it via DVI and I can see the PC post (both the video card BIOS) as well as the regular motherboard POST sequence... it just stops mid-boot - never tries to load the OS.
