I just got a K9N Ultra and 2gb OCZ gold at 5 5 5 12 and when i power it on, it appers to come on, but nothing appears on the screen. It behaves the same way w/ memory removed. Does this mean its incompatible or has anyone used these two in conjunction?

If you remove the memory, and don't get any memory error beeps on boot, then the board isn't any good. Or the CPU is bad.

I was actually considering ordering this combination relatively soon, though I was still debating the memory brand.

i tired one at a time, nothing. No bios at all. I have an x1800xt and it boots at 100 percent fan speed and it usually drops down to 10 percent after a second, this doesnt happen with this board tho.

Edit: Ive been playing around some more and i tried installing a different video card, a 6800gs, and with that card nothing happened when i push the power button, nothing turns on at all. So does it sound like a defective board, defective memory, or incompatible parts?

Thanks Keith Talent, it seems it requires a bios update to work, now i just have to find some ddr2 and a floppy to use to do the bios update.

Good luck man! I almost bought some OCZ ram for my build but read about all kinds of issues with my mobo (having to reduce speeds, stuff like that).

Hope it works out for you!

Man, it's really lame that there's still so many compatibility issues with DDR2 and mainboards. I don't remember DDR being so bad, and DDR2 isn't exactly a revolutionary new design.
