So, here is the deal. I have this motherboard with a 3800 cpu. I have an 8800gt, and 4 gigs of ram. These sticks of ram are 1 gig per stick.

So, I have taken everything out of the box except for the video, the mobo, the cpu, and the memory. I try to start it up, and it wont start with both the 4 pin molex connector and the cpu1 connector hooked up. So, I go to remove the cpu1 connection off of it and it fires and keeps running. However, it never posts. If I turn it off, then plug the cpu1 back in, and unplug the 4 pin molex connector it wont even stay running. It just shuts back off.

I dont get it. I have replaced the mobo, and the power supply which by the way is an ocz 500 psu.

Ideas?

You know you need to list all the components.

Have you tried to use just one DIMM of RAM. 4 can be a strain for most motherboards and may need a bump up in voltage.

I did. I took it down to just bare components. 1 stick, the cpu, the mb, and the video. Still, will not post. I think its a memory voltage issue, which I am looking into right now. Thing is, why would it drop to a point where it wont run if its been running good for a few months? I guess it could be break in, but this is a brand new motherboard from rma....
