I just got my MSI K9A Platinum today, and put everything together. But with two Ballistix sticks in dual channel, it won't post. When I take one out, it loads fine.
MSI K9A Platinum (AM2)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+
2x1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800
HIS Radeon X1900XT IceQ3
Rosewill 550W PS
BIOS set the ram initially to DDR2-400 3-4-3-8 with 1.8V. I changed it to DDR2-800 5-5-5-15 with 2.2V for now, but when I get this straightened out I'll tighten to 4-4-4-12 (advertised timings, frequency, and voltage).
I remember reading somewhere that someone had to boot into the BIOS with one stick, then power down and insert the other. I tried that, but I cut all power to the system, so I'll try again without doing that.
EDIT: Yup, running one stick then inserting the other worked. Problem solved.
