know the chipset is different, but what are the other real differences? Everyone seems to rave about the Platinum, but there is quite a price difference between the two. I plan on putting a 3000+ in it with 512X2 PC3200, 6800 GT, and a single HD (no Raid). I've never OC'd before, but I would like to try this time. I believe the Nvidia chipset is better for this right? My main question is, do I really need the Platinum, or should I save the money and get the the Via chipset board?

Well, I have experience with both of the motherboards you are looking at.

The K8N Neo2 Platinum in my rig and the K8T Neo2F in my wife's machine.

If you want to overclock stay away from the K8T Neo2F. Nothing I can do to it will make it overclock worth a damn. Otherwise its a fine board.

Get the K8N Neo2 Platinum if overclocking is what you want.

I had the K8T Neo2F and could not get it to overclock better than 208. Extraordinarily stable at stock though. Just could not get it to overclock.

I also got a DFI Lanparty UT and it overclocked my 2.2 3400+ (1 meg cache) to 2.6. Same ram (Corsair XLPro) and same cards.

Thanks, that helps alot. Like I said, I will likely OC the CPU at some point. I guess I'll go with the platinum.
