MSI K8T Neo (FIS2R) - HDD LED?

I only have one SATA drive connected to the SATA1 port.
The Hard Drive LED only comes on for about 1 second when I push the power button and stays off afterwards. It will then blink once on shut down. So I know the LED works, but does it not monitor this SATA port?
Perhaps only the IDE?

Any adjustments to fix this?
I tried reversing the connector, but that doesn't help.
I am thinking its not monitoring the SATA HD?

I think it only works for the VIA sata controllerand not the Promise controller. Did you run a drive benchmark and see if the light comes on.

I have the SATA drive hooked up to the VIA controlled SATA1 connector.

I am using a basic IDE drive in mine, and the led does not seem to come on at all.

Only IDE I benched my sata drive no light indicator

Can I just move the SATA hard drive over to the Promise controller?
Will that be an issue since I formated and installed XP with the Via controller?

I had already loaded the promise driver and made the bios adjustment, moved the sata cable. Now it boots and the hard drive light works.
Can't believe its only hooked to the promise controller!

That's just plain stupid.
