MSI K8NGM2-FID Fan Header Questions

This MB is awsome. Currently my CPU is plugged into CPUFAN1, Powersupply is plugged into SYSFAN1. What is the purpose of the NBFAN1? (I thought the NB was passively cooled?)

It is in case you want to replace the passive heatsink with a fan.
