I'm putting a computer together and need to pick a mother board.

Can you tell me the pro's and con's in a MSI K8N NEO2 vs new EPOX (939) board? Or do you think PCIexpress is worth the wait. What is the wait on that for a new AMD 64 3500+ 90nm?

What would you pick? I need a quite & cool system.

so far I've pick out

AMD 64, 939, 3500+ 90nm
2 NEC 3500A
3 Hard drives
1 Floppy
nForce 6800 GT (unless pci express comes out soon)
RME Hammerfall 96/52 (pro audio sound card)
Antec Sonata Case
1-2 Gigs Cosair Value ram
Modem

Thanks

The manufacturers stated that the new boards will be available to purchase mid-late November at the earliest. Maybe later.

As far as whether it's worth the wait, that depends on your situation. Do you currently have a decent set up to hold you over for the next 1 - 2 months? If not then you'll be without a computer while you wait for the boards to be released. When the manufacturers announce delays you'll be pretty upset. Consider that the first revisions are bound to have bugs and problems to be worked out. Right now PCI Express does not offer any significant performance increase over AGP graphics.

The one drawback to the nForce3 chipset is that if you plan to upgrade the video card in 2 or 3 years it might be hard to find one supporting AGP.

Personally, I recently purchased an MSI K8N Neo2 to go with my 3500+ 90nm and expect to be happy with that.
