MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum (ms-7125)

I have this mobo and it clearly has 8 SATA ports. I currently have 1 & 2 in RAID (using the nVidia RAID controller), and 3 & 4 are stand-alone drives. However, only these 4 show up in the BIOS. It seems that 5-8 are controlled by the SilconeImage RAID (recently enabled in the BIOS). That controller sees my 5th drive during the POST, but it is not in the BIOS or windows. Any idea how i can get that drive functioning? Are ports 5-8 only intended for RAID?

I had a similar thing happen to me with an MSI board, years ago. I basically had to enable RAID in the BIOS whether I was using it or not. Apparently it refers to the SATA controllers collectively as a "RAID" even though they're just SATA connectors with the option to use a form of RAID.

So yeah, try that. It might just work. If not, then I can't help you, sorry.
