I just bought an AMD 64 3500 939 and an MSI K8N Neo2 w/Raptor 10,000RPM SATA Hard Drive. I heard people are having issues installing them w/ winXP and MSI boards. I'm a newbie when it come to BIOS's and I wana make sure I do this right the first time. I've been known to screw this up in the past LOL Dohhh!

I'm concerned about my SATA HD instalation and getting my MSI board to see the HD. I heard they were tricky to install. I've searched the forums for some info but just get more confused when I hear of RAID 1 RAID 0, SATA this SATA that. I just wana install the thing and make it work with no head aches. I don't want the duel sync HD setup. I just want normal 1 HD to MOBO. The simple way.

Can you guys please help me clear up how to go about installing the MOBO with SATA. Also if there is anything I should know about this board please let me know.

Thanks!!

I have pretty much the same setup as kindest but it takes me about 2 hours to install Windows XP Pro. (maybe less, I walk away from the comp for like 40 minutes at a time while installing Windows) but I didn't have to mess with the SATA drivers or RAID drivers at all, comp runs fine.
