Brand new mobo installed with athlon 64 3000+ winchester core 1gig (2x512mb corsair xms RAM), superflower 520w PSU, fans and hard drives spool up , DVD drive gets power, BFG 6800 non-ultra everything gets power, NO post up, no beeps or anything...any suggestions? ive searched thru the threads, still am, havent really found anything closely related. thx

Yes but i am having the same problem but just with a 3200+ Winchester instead, and I dont think its my graphics card (eVGA 6800 GT)

Well, this isn't good. I just ordered a Neo2 Platinum and an Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester. I also have an eVGA 6800GT. Please reply back if you figure out what the problem is.

same here I just installed everything, I tried my pqi samsung tccd 2-2-2-5 wont post with just 1 memory installed in bank 1 or in bank 1+3 and in bank 2+4, Swapped it out and tried my OCZ Platinum EL 2-2-3-5 which was on the compatibility list still no post with memory installed in bank number 1. Swapped out my perfect BFG 6800 oc and still getting beeps with 2 sec in between also tried my radeon 9700 pro still getting same results. The board is getting power so I don't think it's the board.

I tried clearing the CMOS and removing the battery for a few minutes still getting beep codes. If it aint the videocard, nor the memory, I can only conclude it's the processor or the motherboard itself. Let me know if you guys find anything out.

My setup is

MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum
PQI Samsung TCCD 2-2-2-5 AND/OR OCZ Platinum EL 2-2-3-5 256x2MB
Athlon 64 3000+ (week 44 chip)
BFG 6800 OC AND/OR ATI 9700 Pro
Ultra X-Connect 500 watt PSU.

I had the 9600xt installedand unistalled ati drivers, clear Cmos and place the 6800 in the slot, nothing!!!! took the 6800 out place the 9600 back in fired right up.
I tried again placing the 6800 back in now I get nothing at a,not even when I put the 9600 back in.

The LED lights are all lite up indicating in the MSI K8N Platinum handbook that the Processor is malfunction??

Wasn't there some info on AT or Toms about NF3 boards and NVidia cards having problems not playing well together?

I'm curious as I'm just about to order a Neo2 and 3200+ also....

I haven't heard that one. There are a lot of forum members who are using the nforce3 motherboards with nvidia video cards whose systems are running great. I'd have to see some hard evidence before I believe that. Can you provide a link to that info?

I'm running a K8N Neo2 Platinum w/BFG 6800 GT OC and I'm posting fine. I have now run 3DMark05 several times and all seems well after replacing some bad memory.

Have you tried relaxing the memory timings. Try CAS 2.5 4 4 8 or 2.5/3/3/6 A64 systems seem to not like super low latency memory.

Only "incompatabilty" problem i've seen or read about was with 6800GTs and 6800 Ultras stuttering with faswrites enabled.

With my BFG 6800 GT Oc, i need to have Faswrites disabled and set my 2d and 3d clock speeds the same or i get the stutter/pauses.

speedi,
Does your BFG 6800gt Oc "stutter" with faswrites enabled?
If not, care to share your settings, bios revision etc....?

Ive tried several bios's from serveral different 6800Gts, nothing worked for me.
So i disabled faswrites, set both 2d and 3d voltages to 1.4v, set 2d and 3d clockspeeds the same,
playing smooth now, no issues.

Other than that my NEO2 / 6800GT is running just fine, only time it wouldnt post was when i tried incompatable ram.
LOVE THIS MOBO!

Too bad i want an Nforce4 / SLI now. 😉
