According to the last socket 754 roundup article on anandtech the DFI LANparty UT nF3 250Gb seems to be one of the few 754 mobos that can run on high FSBs with sata drives connected. After looking at lots of motherboard pictures and manuals i found out that its also one of the few (if not the only one) that has a Marvell 88SR3020 SATA PHY chip.
The MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum Edition uses the same chip as sata-controller for 2 of its sata ports.
Assuming this chip is the reason the dfi board ocs so good with sata drives this would also mean that the msi board easyly reaches high fsbs with sata drives.
Has anyone here ever actually tried it and can confirm this?
Sadly the 939 roundup on anand doestn state wether they used sata or ide drives to reach those ocs and i couldnt find any other article that does.
